Beyond the physical benefits, participating in team sports contributes to a sense of community and school spirit. The lessons learned on the field extend far beyond the game, shaping our students into well-rounded, goal-oriented citizens.

Westy Futures Sport information

Spring Sports Are Coming, Pumas! 🐾

Lace up those cleats and get ready to roar because Spring Sports registration is officially OPEN for the Westy Futures program! 🏃‍♂️ We have an incredible lineup of activities this season where every Puma can shine, from the soccer field to the baseball diamond. ⚾ Whether you’re a kindergartener or in middle school, there is a team waiting for your energy and Puma pride! 🌟

Check out these fantastic opportunities available for just $75 (registration fee includes a team performance tee (or jersey/visor for softball/baseball)):

  • ⚽ Soccer (K-5th Grade Coed): Divisions for K/1, 2nd/3rd, and 4th/5th. Registration runs 1/7-3/3 (or until full). Program starts March 31st at Gregory Hill with weekly practices and games on Tuesdays & Thursdays!
  • ⚽ Girls Middle School Soccer (6th-8th Grade): Tryouts are the week of March 9th at Ranum. Join the A or B team and compete in the Northern Rocky Mountain league! Fee’s will be paid after tryouts once your athlete has made the team.
  • 🏈 Flag Football (3rd-8th Grade Coed): Monday/Wednesday practices and games starting March 30th. Don’t wait—space is limited!
  • 🏐 D-League Volleyball (5th-8th Grade Girls): Focus on skill development with intermediate and advanced sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays starting the week of March 30th at Ranum.
  • 🏃 Track & Field (6th-8th Grade Coed): A brand new pilot program for our MS students! Weekly events and practices (Tuesdays & Thursdays) start at the end of March and run thru the end of May at Ranum.
  • ⚾ 14U Baseball (Boys 14 & Under): Tryouts are Monday, March 2nd at Ranum for our spring/summer competitive team Season runs from March thru June. Must be 14 or under as of Sept 1st 2026.
  • 🥎 12U & 14U Girls Softball: Tryouts the week of March 16th at Ranum to join the Indian Peaks Girls Softball Association. Games start in May. 12U must be 12 or under as of Sept 1, 2024, 14U must be 14 or under as of September 1st, 2026.

Westy Futures Sports

All OPA Pumas have the opportunity to participate in team sports as part of Westminster Public Schools Westy Futures program for K-8 students. Athletics provide students with opportunities to excel not only academically but also socially and emotionally, preparing them for challenges in the future. Sports include Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Softball, Baseball and Basketball.
