Dean of Students: Ms. Meighan Scott

Hello Puma families!  My name is Meighan Scott, and I am thrilled to join the OPA community as the new Instructional Dean of Students.  My career in education began just over 20 years ago in Bloomington, Indiana, where I taught 6th grade in an elementary setting for 12 years.  After that, I transitioned to a variety of K-12 roles, including as a technology, STEM & project-based learning instructional coach and district Ready Schools Coordinator.  My family and I moved over the summer from the rolling hills of southern Indiana to the front range in Colorado, and we are so excited to join this community!

I had heard about Westminster Public Schools all the way back in Indiana, and I was drawn to this district and school because of the innovative and personalized approach WPS brings to knowing and educating all students.  I feel grateful and honored to be a part of this educational setting that embodies student-centered teaching and learning, and I can't wait to learn more about all our OPA students and families at the individuals they are.

At home, I love hiking, cooking (i.e. eating) and watching sports of all kinds with my husband, our 13- & 15-year old sons, and two loveable mutts 🐾   I am thrilled to begin this new chapter at OPA and to honored to support all our Puma teachers, students and families.
