Preschool
Enrollment begins in January of each year.
Preschool provides children with opportunities to work and play, learn to share, accept and respect individual differences, learn to express him/herself, develop physical coordination, begin to work with language, literary and numeracy and general readiness for Kindergarten.
Orchard Park Academy has all-day preschool classes Monday - Friday from 8:10 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.
Items to bring
- Proof of address: cable bill, driver's license, electric/gas bill, insurance bill, lease, mortgage statement, phone bill, rent receipt, State ID, tax bill or water bill.
- State-issued birth certificate. Unable to register without a birth certificate
- Up-to-date Immunization records. Will not be able to register without current immunizations. Students in Preschool must have
- 4 DTP
- 3 Polio
- 3 Hepatitis B
- 3/2/1 HIB
- 4/3/2 PCV
- 1 Varicella
- 1 MMR
- Physical: Must have been completed within the last year.
- IEP (if applicable): Please bring any information that will help us best meet the needs of your student.
Kindergarten
Enrollment begins in January of each year.
Kindergarten provides children with opportunities to work and play, learn to share, accept and respect individual differences, learn to express him/herself, develop physical coordination, begin to work with language, literary and numeracy and general readiness for first grade.
Children must be five years old on or before October 1 to enroll.
To register for Kindergarten, we will need:
- Immunization record, will not be able to register without current immunizations. Students in Kindergarten must have:
- 5 DTP
- 4 Polio
- 3 Hepatitis B
- 2 Varicella
- 2 MMR
- State-issued birth certificate. Unable to register without a birth certificate.
- Proof of address: cable bill, driver's license, electric/gas bill, insurance bill, lease, mortgage statement, phone bill, rent receipt, State ID, tax bill or water bill)
All new kindergarten students will be assessed with a screening instrument that has been developed by district staff. The assessment takes about half an hour per child to administer. It provides information about academic readiness in the areas of development, literacy, and mathematics. It can be administered in English or Spanish, depending on the child’s native language.
Grades 1st - 8th
To register students in grades 1 through 8, we will need the following:
- Immunization records. Unable to register without current immunizations. Students in grades 1 through 5 must have:
- 5 DTP
- 4 polio
- 3 Hepatitis B
- 2 Varicella
- 2 MMR
- State-issued birth certificate. Unable to register without a birth certificate.
- Proof of address: cable bill, driver's license, electric/gas bill, insurance bill, lease, mortgage statement, phone bill, rent receipt, State ID, tax bill or water bill
- Attendance record from previous school
- Discipline record from previous school
- Special Education information (including but not limited to an IEP)
